tThe Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa (Rtd) has paid tribute to Prof. Jubril Aminu.
Marwa described the former Minister of Education as the epitome of knowledge, who had made significant contributions across several sectors during his lifetime.
In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, Marwa noted that Professor Aminu left a lasting mark on medicine, education, foreign policy, politics and the oil industry.
He said the professor’s passing on Thursday was a monumental loss that saddened many in Nigeria and worldwide.
“At 85, we would have loved for him to live longer, to continue sharing his wisdom and vast experience,” Marwa said.
He added that Nigeria could still have significantly benefited from Aminu’s knowledge across key areas of human development.
According to Marwa, the tributes pouring in over the past 24 hours reflect the late professor’s far-reaching influence across many spheres of life.
He said the national sense of loss is even more profound because Aminu was severely respected and admired.
“Even in mourning, we celebrate the life of an extraordinary man and true symbol of knowledge,” Marwa added.
He said Aminu remained one of Nigeria’s finest minds in medicine and academia, where he made indelible contributions.
Marwa also recalled their shared roots in Adamawa and fondly remembered working alongside him at various stages in service to the nation.
