Manchok (Kaduna State): A philanthropist and entrepreneur, Catherine Bitrus, has empowered about 250 vulnerable women with grinding machines in the Manchok Community, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The women were also given food items, including bags of rice, cartons of indomie, cooking oil and seasoning.
The philanthropist, who is the CEO of Natural Beauty Secret, pledged to sustain the initiative for the benefit of humanity.
Presenting the items in Manchok, Bitrus explained that the gesture was motivated by her desire to support rural women struggling to make ends meet.
“God has blessed me, and I feel it is only proper to share his blessings with others.
“I have decided to reach out to these vulnerable women because we all know that things are not easy for many of them,” she added.
Bitrus urged the beneficiaries to work hard and not give up on themselves, as they could do anything they set their minds to.
She lauded Gov. Uba Sani for creating a conducive atmosphere for women to thrive and prosper in the state.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, James Kanyip, commended the entrepreneur for giving back to her community.
Kanyip urged other well-meaning individuals and organisations to follow in Bitrus’s footsteps and help the less privileged.
On his part, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Lucky Ezra, described Bitrus as a woman with a heart for the community and the less privileged.
Ezra tasked the women with putting the items they had been given to good use.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Josephine Bature thanked the philanthropists for coming to their aid in their hour of need.
Bature prayed to God to replenish her pockets and allow her to do more for others.
“We are overwhelmed with joy, and it is our prayer that God continues to bless the giver,” she said.
