Lagos: In a display of democratic spirit and political engagement, the Lead Visioner of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly sworn-in chairpersons and vice chairs of Lagos State’s 57 local councils.

Speaking through his media aide, Adediran urged the incoming leaders to deliver people-centred governance and ensure their tenure brings tangible development to communities across the state.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Sunday, swore in the newly elected officials to lead the councils for a four-year term.

He urged the new council heads to offer purposeful and people-centred governance at the grassroots level throughout their tenure.

Adediran expressed hope that their service would bring real development, responsible leadership, and effective service delivery to all communities in Lagos.

He recalled sponsoring an Independent Campaign Group (ICG) to support all APC chairmanship and councillorship candidates before the July 12 elections.

“This effort, aimed at deepening democracy and credible representation at the grassroots, was praised by the party’s leadership,” he stated.

He called on the new leaders not to disappoint the people who entrusted them with their votes and hopes.

“As firm believers in democracy, I urge the chairmen and vice chairmen to prioritise community needs,” Adediran said.

He also encouraged them to collaborate with other government tiers to fulfil all campaign promises made to the electorate.

Adediran reaffirmed his readiness to support all initiatives that improve the welfare of Lagos residents across LGAs and LCDAs.
