Lagos, Nigeria: Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and other distinguished figures were honoured by the Cherubim and Seraphim Church as part of its centenary celebrations.
The honour was given to the personalities at the C&S Centenary Awards and Dinner held in Lagos.
The Chairman of the Awards Committee, Emmanuel Owomoyela, said at the event that the honour was to show appreciation for services and inspire greater works among the church members and the entire Nigerian people.
Owomoyela described the C&S Church as unique, expressing confidence that its members would remain steadfast in the years to come.
“We want to inspire younger church workers to impact society in the years to come positively,” he said.
He said that the centenary anniversary was remarkable and should elicit greater zeal to serve God.
According to him, the Moses Orimolade University project of the church at Omu Aru in Kwara needs to be completed.
“The church needs the support of all to ensure that the university, to teach moral values, aside from others, begins academic sessions by 2026.
