Emir of Ilorin Celebrates Prof. Oba-Abdulraheem at 78, Hails His Legacy

Ilorin, Kwara State: The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara Traditional Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has rejoiced with the former University of Ilorin Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shuaib Oba-Abdulraheem, on his 78th birthday.

Sulu-Gambari described the erudite scholar and Talba of Ilorin as an exceptional educationist with unwavering commitment, love and contributions to the growth of education and human capital development.

This is contained in a goodwill message by Dr Abdulazeez Arowona, Spokesman to the Emir, on Thursday in Ilorin.

The traditional ruler said that the celebrant had an unrivalled track record of accomplishments in educational growth, mentorship, and youth empowerment.

The Emir said that the former VC provided admission opportunities and jobs to those who merited them throughout his tenure in the public service and to date.

“I thank him for his quality technical contributions to the birth of many higher institutions in Kwara, through his exceptional expertise and connections across the education sector, nationally and globally,” the Emir said.

Sulu-Gambari wished the former Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) and pioneer Pro-Chancellor of Muhammad Kamalud-deen University, Ilorin, more years of meritorious service on earth, with sound health and absolute comfort.
