Abuja: In a moment that lit up Abuja’s cultural scene, Kind Toby — the sensational autistic music prodigy — delivered a breathtaking performance at The Big Concert, leaving the audience in awe.

With every note, Toby shattered stereotypes and showcased the boundless power of talent, resilience, and authenticity. His soulful delivery and magnetic stage presence turned the evening into a celebration of inclusion, artistry, and pure musical brilliance.

The show, staged by Shyne Band in collaboration with Transcorp Hilton, was a night of glitz and glamour in a colourful, festive ambience, characteristic of concerts.

The gig, hosted by Nollywood veteran Segun Arinze, was a gathering of legends, featuring ace singers Bright Chimezie and Barrister Smooth, among others.

Each artist took the audience on a soulful journey through the golden era of Nigerian music, with Kind Toby adding a refreshing touch of youthful vibe and inspiration to the show.

The young autistic creative and inclusion advocate hit the stage with his debut hit  “I Be Somebody,” a growing national movement that seeks to ‘see the unseen’ and celebrate every individual’s worth.

Some participants who spoke with journalists on the red carpet saluted the youngster’s courage, adding that featuring him would further foster inclusivity in the creative sector.

Mrs Noni Okocha, Founder of the “I Am the Future of Nigeria Youth Initiative”, said Kind Toby’s performance highlighted the organiser’s commitment to promoting inclusion, empowerment, and visibility for young people of all abilities.

According to Okocha, “the collaboration embodies the belief that when we give equal opportunities to all, we enrich our art, our communities, and our shared humanity.”

Felix Ofuyeta, founder of Shyne Band, said: “Music is a universal language and performing alongside Tobechi, we are reminded that every person — regardless of ability — has something extraordinary to contribute.”

Kind Toby’s musical journey is one of resilience and brilliance, as his natural rhythm, unique sound interpretation, and passionate energy have inspired audiences and industry professionals alike.

Sharing the stage with the Shyne Band, whose captivating live performance brought new energy to classic tunes, Toby’s presence highlighted the night’s more profound message: “that music remains a bridge across generations, abilities, and cultures.”
