Jos: Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The move was formalised on Friday in Jos, where the governor received his APC membership card from the party’s state chairman, Rufus Bature.
Mutfwang described his defection as a step taken in the interest of Plateau State, pledging to run an all-inclusive administration despite the change of party platform. He urged residents to remain united, assuring them that the state would benefit from the new political alignment.
The governor expressed gratitude to the PDP for providing him with a platform for his political journey, while promising to deliver qualitative leadership under the APC. He also thanked President Bola Tinubu for what he described as his “deep love for Plateau,” and pledged support for Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
