Lagos: The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has confirmed that 20 vessels are currently discharging petroleum products and other commodities across Apapa, TinCan Island, and Lekki ports, underscoring Lagos’s central role in Nigeria’s maritime trade and economic activity.
The authority disclosed this in its shipping position made available to newsmen.
NPA explained that the ships were discharging buck wheat, diesel, crude oil, bulk pallets, general cargo, petrol, containers, bulk gas, fresh fish, bulk urea, salt, and aviation fuel.
TheDiggernews.com gathered that no fewer than 35 other ships laden with petroleum products, food items, and other goods are expected to arrive at Lagos ports between Saturday and Jan. 25.
NPA said that the expected ships would bring general cargoes, gypsum, bulk oil, bulk urea, gasoline, condensers, buckwheat, and containers. of different goods, bulk salt, and petrol.
Meanwhile, the authority disclosed that nine ships had arrived at the ports and were awaiting berthing with bulk urea, crude oil, diesel, aviation fuel, containers, general cargo, and petrol.
