Cleric Calls on Leaders to Prioritize Public Service over Personal Gain

by Peter Otutu

Ilorin: Pastor Victor Jeremiah of The Christ Light Church, Ilorin, has advised leaders in the country to serve the public, not their own pockets.

Jeremiah told the journalist in Ilorin on Saturday that for Nigeria to be a better nation, leaders must be selfless and ready to serve the public.

According to him, many elected leaders and government appointees struggle to remain focused on public service and integrity in their offices.

He stated that leaders often prioritize personal interests over national development and public welfare.

He urged leaders to prioritize serving the people and reconsider their current approach to leadership for the nation’s progress.

” Learn to sacrifice for the masses. Be selfless, honest, and transparent in your dealings for the country to progress,”he advised.

The clergy also advised leaders to prioritise the masses and stop depriving them of their rights, and expect a better nation.
