Lafia (Nigeria): The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and Gov. Hope Uzodinma of Imo are among dignitaries expected to attend a mega solidarity rally in Nasarawa State, specifically organised to demonstrate public support for President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s policies.

Dr Labaran Magaji, Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government (SSG), disclosed this at a press briefing on Tuesday in Lafia.

Magaji said the Feb. 12 rally would thank the President and the governor for reforms and governance strides.

Yilwatda and other APC leaders will formally welcome new members.

According to him, over 15,000 state residents are expected at the rally, which is intended as a public demonstration of appreciation for specific policies and projects carried out by the Tinubu and Sule administrations.

Magaji said he consulted with groups and agencies after reviewing the leaders’ performances.

He cited reforms such as the removal of the fuel subsidy and new social interventions.

“It is inspiring for beneficiaries of these policies, especially the people of Nasarawa State, to unite and collectively express their heartfelt gratitude,” he said.

Magaji said participants would converge at the State Secretariat before proceeding to Lafia Square, where the rally would be concluded.

He praised Sule for his exemplary management of the state’s resources, highlighting the transformative infrastructure projects delivered by the APC administration.

“The State Secretariat, the dualised Shendam Road, the Lafia flyover and underpass, Akwanga underpass, as well as Keffi and Karu flyovers, were not in existence two years ago.

“This is a testament to good governance and visionary leadership from the top,” he said.

Similarly, the SSG also met with directors in the state civil service and briefed them on the rally.

Responding, Ms Abigail Ways, the Head of Service, expressed satisfaction with the performance of both administrations and reaffirmed the workforce’s loyalty to the government.
