Angélique Kidjo, the celebrated musician from Benin, has announced her new album Hope, which will be released on April 24, 2026.
The album features an impressive group of collaborators from around the world.
Kidjo, who has won five Grammy awards, shared news of the album on social media. She called it “five years in the making” and said it is a deeply personal project.
“I put my whole heart into this album, and I’m so grateful to all the great artists who have contributed their genius,” she wrote.
The album features Nigerian Afrobeats stars Davido and Ayra Starr, as well as American artists Pharrell Williams, Charlie Wilson, PJ Morton, and Nile Rodgers.
Other collaborators include The Cavemen from Nigeria, Quavo from the USA, Dadju from France, Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania, Soweto Gospel Choir from South Africa, Florent Pagny from France, Iza from Brazil, and Fally Ipupa from DR Congo.
Hope will be Kidjo’s 19th studio album in a career that has lasted almost fifty years. She is known for mixing African folk music with modern styles and for singing in Yoruba, French, and English.
She has received 16 Grammy nominations, won five times, and has been recognized by The Guardian and Forbes as one of Africa’s most influential cultural figures.
With Hope, Kidjo continues to bring people and generations together. The album celebrates resilience, unity, and the worldwide influence of African music.
