Abuja: The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has clarified that the approved monthly upkeep allowance for students under its loan scheme remains ₦20,000, cautioning the public against circulating false information about the program.
The Fund made the clarification in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by its Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs Oseyemi Oluwatuyi.
Oluwatuyi said the clarification became necessary following misinformation circulating on social media that suggested the monthly allowance had been increased to N25,000.
She advised students to disregard such reports and rely solely on the Fund’s official communication channels for accurate information.
According to her, the approved upkeep allowance for beneficiaries remains at N20,000 per month.
Oluwatuyi said NELFUND remains transparent, efficient, and focused on supporting students nationwide.
She thanked the students for their cooperation and urged them to contact official platforms for any questions.
She said students can reach the Fund through its official email or verified social media handles for help.
She added that NELFUND would continue to provide timely updates to ensure beneficiaries receive accurate and verified information.
