Aba (Nigeria): Football enthusiasts in Aba have expressed disappointment over the Super Eagles‘ inability to defeat Jordan in an international friendly played in Turkey on Tuesday.

Some of them who spoke after the encounter, which ended 2-2 on Tuesday night, said the team struggled because it did not play as a team.

A sports presenter with Magic FM Aba, Tony Ademodi, said the team must improve its scoring and play with focus and tactics to avoid mistakes.

Ademodi expressed disappointment with Alex Iwobi’s performance and his angry reaction to provocation, which led to Iwobi receiving a red card.

He urged coaches to find reliable goalkeepers like Vincent Enyama, who inspire confidence in defenders.

Another fan, Uche Adindu, said it was unfortunate that the Super Eagles were unable to beat Jordan, who are ranked 64, far behind the Nigerian team in 24th place in the latest FIFA ranking.

Adindu added that the Super Eagles’ coaching staff needs to improve coordination, chance creation, and finishing.

“Nigeria needs a good goalkeeper. “Nigeria needs a good goalkeeper who can stamp his authority between the sticks and win matches for us. For example, consider how Francis Uzoho conceded a goal from a spot kick,” he said. Fan said she expected the Super Eagles to win after leading Jordan.

Another football fan, Ugochukwu Obasi, said that the Super Eagles’ missed 2026 World Cup ticket was an opportunity to rebuild for the future.
