President Bola Tinubu has reassured Nigerians of his unwavering commitment to the promises he made, declaring that he would never betray their trust.
Speaking through Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the inauguration of executives of the PBAT Door‑to‑Door Movement in Abuja, Tinubu said ongoing reforms, though demanding sacrifices, would ultimately deliver lasting prosperity and a stronger nation.
“My administration remains committed to building a better Nigeria in spite of the difficult decisions taken since assuming office,” he said.
Addressing supporters, political leaders, traditional rulers, civil society organisations and stakeholders, Tinubu expressed delight at citizens’ voluntary participation in activities supporting national development.
He described their involvement as evidence of growing patriotism and collective responsibility in shaping Nigeria’s future.
He urged members of the movement to sustain grassroots mobilisation by taking government messages directly to communities, stressing that meaningful engagement at the household level was essential for strengthening democracy.
Tinubu charged supporters to explain the benefits of government policies to citizens, noting that democracy thrives when people understand governance dividends and actively participate in building institutions.
The President acknowledged that reforms had imposed hardships but insisted they were necessary to secure sustainable growth and long‑term prosperity. “Nations attain greatness by confronting difficult challenges courageously.
Patriotism and resilience remain essential qualities required to overcome temporary hardships while building a stronger, prosperous and united Nigeria,” he said.
Tinubu emphasised that effective governance required cooperation among the executive, legislature and citizens, warning against political differences that could undermine national unity.
He urged Nigerians to promote hope, respect and democratic values in every interaction, saying such efforts would strengthen confidence in the country’s future.
He commended High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and members of the PBAT Door‑to‑Door Movement for initiating grassroots mobilisation in support of his administration’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Tinubu said reforms implemented over the past three years were already positioning Nigeria for sustained economic growth, expressing confidence that brighter prospects awaited citizens as policies continued to yield results.
Earlier, Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, described the inauguration as the beginning of a nationwide mobilisation campaign.
He praised Tinubu as a courageous leader whose reform programmes demonstrated determination to transform Nigeria, urging citizens to remain peaceful, disciplined and committed to national unity.
