Imo State has emerged as the showcase of Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda, as the Presidential Media Team and Renewed Hope Ambassadors embarked on a high‑profile inspection of landmark projects reshaping the South‑East.

On July 15, the delegation — led by Governor Hope Uzodimma and joined by senior journalists — toured the newly completed 56‑kilometre Okigwe–Owerri Road, the 36‑kilometre Owerri–Obowo–Umuahia Road, and the ambitious expansion of the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, set to become a logistics hub with eight modern warehouses for exports and commerce.

The team also highlighted the conversion of Alvan Ikoku College of Education into a Federal University of Technology and the upgrade of the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, into a teaching hospital — projects hailed as milestones long sought by successive governments but only realised under Uzodimma’s leadership, in synergy with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Commissioner for Information Declan Emelumba described the developments as “visible dividends of federal‑state partnership,” noting that Tinubu’s economic reforms had expanded fiscal space for subnational governments to accelerate infrastructure.

Presidential aide Tunde Rahman praised the alignment between Imo and the Federal Government, pointing to educational initiatives like NELFUND that ensure indigent students remain in school. Journalists on the tour commended the pace and quality of work, calling the projects “living evidence of collaborative governance.”

The inspection underscored a powerful message: when federal and state governments work in tandem, the promise of Renewed Hope translates into tangible progress — roads, universities, hospitals, and airports that redefine the South‑East’s future.
