Rep disburses N24.5m as scholarship grants to 614 students

Bungudu (Zamfara): Rep. Abdulmalik Zubairu (APC-Zamfara) has disbursed a total of ₦24.5 million to 614 tertiary students from Bungudu and Maru Local Government Areas.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Zubairu represents the Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

During the disbursement exercise in Bungudu town on Sunday, Zubairu said the gesture was part of his interventions to support education.

Zubairu, represented by the Chairman of his Scholarship Committee, Malam Muhammad Adamu, said 614 beneficiaries studied courses in 19 universities nationwide.

He said the gesture aimed at supporting students from less privileged families “who are finding it difficult to pay their school fees.

“Today, we are disbursing N24.5 million as scholarship grants to 614 tertiary students.”

He further said the gesture was intended to reduce the economic hardship faced by the less privileged students and their families.
