Ifedore, Ondo State: The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr Bernard Doro, said President Bola Tinubu’s government would keep prioritising the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians.
The minister said this after being conferred with a chieftaincy title, along with his wife, by the Olowa of Igbara-Oke, Oba Adefarakanmi Agbede, in Ondo State on Monday.
The traditional ruler conferred the title of Otunba Bobajiro of Igbara-Oke and Yeye Bobajiro of Igbara-Oke on the minister and his wife, Naomi, respectively.
Doro explained that while the various reforms of the Tinubu-led administration might be challenging, these measures are designed to improve economic stability and provide greater opportunities for vulnerable Nigerians, thereby helping lift the country out of hopelessness.
The minister said the chieftaincy title would prompt him to give more to society, and he appreciated the traditional ruler and the community for the honour.
Earlier, Oba Agbede noted that the ancient community had found the minister and his wife worthy of receiving the titles for their humanitarian efforts on behalf of mankind.
