Trump to Putin: ‘End War in 12 Days or Pay’

President Donald Trump of the United States of America has issued a renewed ultimatum of “10 or 12 days” to Russian President Vladimir Putin to agree to a peace deal to end the war in Ukraine or face new sanctions.

Vladimir Putin has “10 or 12 days” to agree to a peace deal to end the war in Ukraine or face new sanctions.

Speaking in Scotland alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump voiced disappointment over the lack of progress, shortening an earlier 50-day deadline set this month.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed Trump’s stance, calling it a timely and bold move that could help bring peace.

Meanwhile, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warned that Trump’s hard-line approach could trigger a broader conflict involving the U.S., labelling it a dangerous “ultimatum game.”

Trump, who had vowed to end the three-year war swiftly upon his return to office, reiterated that sanctions—and potentially tariffs—are ready if Russia doesn’t comply. Zelenskyy emphasised the effectiveness of sanctions, saying Russia takes notice of economic losses.

However, Trump admitted frustration with both Russian aggression and Ukraine’s leadership, while maintaining that previous efforts to stop the war had failed due to ongoing attacks, including those on civilian targets.
