Dutse: The Chairman of the Jigawa Football Association, Sabo Eka, has urged the state government to establish a Ministry of Sports to enhance sports development in the state.
Eka made the call on Tuesday in Dutse, stressing that separating sports from the Ministry of Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture would facilitate the development of sports in the state.
The chairman stated that football experts should be appointed to handle all football-related matters in the state, just as doctors are appointed to head the health sector, engineers are appointed to lead construction, and lawyers are appointed to handle legal matters.
Eka said that many states have established a Ministry of Sports to promote sports activities.
He stated that establishing a sports ministry in the state and appointing football experts would enhance the standard of sports, particularly for Jigawa Golden Stars FC.
