Abuja: The BAT Movement, an advocacy group supporting President Bola Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to be patient with his administration as it implements economic reforms to address the country’s challenges effectively.

Chief Biodun Ajiboye, founder of the group, made the call on Friday, in Abuja, at a Stakeholders’ Summit on the Second assessment of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope administration.

According to Ajiboye, the president clearly understands what Nigerians are going through and is working tirelessly to implement reforms that will improve life for all in the long run.

Ajiboye, the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), stated that the president and his cabinet are working towards restoring Nigeria’s lost glory through initiatives driven by the ‘Renewed Hope’ mantra.

According to him, it is pertinent to remind ourselves that the journey so far has not been easy, as the task of building a nation is a responsibility shared by all.

“As painful as these reforms may appear to be, they remain necessary decisions that need to be taken towards achieving a greater Nigeria that works for all.

“Therefore, as citizens, we must continue to exercise patience with the current administration to pursue policies that build a resilient, strong, and diversified economy for the benefit of present and future generations.

“It is our opinion that dealing with the root cause of a problem shows a genuine intention to solve a problem.

“This is exactly the sincere approach of President Bola Tinubu, and I salute his courage because not all leaders can put the future ahead of the current splendour of office,” he said.

Ajiboye urged Nigerians to shun naysayers and selfish opposition elements who are more interested in bringing down the government at all costs to seize power in 2027.

According to him, the ongoing infrastructural revolution undertaken by the Federal Government is a clear indication that the administration is committed to the well-being of its citizens.

He added that the removal of subsidies and the floating of the Naira, along with a revised tax regime, might seem like difficult decisions, but are guaranteed to revive and strengthen the Nigerian economy in the long run.

“The President we have today is a transformational leader, who sets focus and drives his team towards the goal to be achieved.

“I sincerely like to tell you that our political space is marred today by untamed desperation and a wild quest to be President of Nigeria.

“This has led to the unguarded expressions and search for association, joined largely by perennial electoral failures.

“Our focus is to communicate the policies of the government in every way possible to the masses of Nigeria; therefore, you should expect that we will infiltrate the fabric of the masses to the grassroots,” he said.

In his remarks, Ali Dalori, the Acting National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), lauded the BAT Movement for organising the summit.

He said the event was an opportunity to reflect on the successes recorded by the Tinubu administration so far.

“Today’s gathering, which focuses on assessing the two years of impactful governance and achievements of President Bola Tinubu, is a testimony of the position support which the BAT Movement provides for the Renewed Hope agenda of our administration.

“As a party, we will continue to call upon all groups of our great party to emulate the BAT Movement and continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Our party has been growing from strength to strength because our President Bola Tinubu has been able to provide impactful leadership,” he said.

The event brought together representatives of various support groups for President Tinubu, members of the diplomatic community, and top government functionaries, including the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa.

Others include Sen. Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of the APC, and other party chieftains.
