Abuja: The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has reaffirmed its commitment to providing Nigerians with uninterrupted access to identity verification and authentication services.

Mr Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications of the Commission, made this assurance in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja.

He said the Commission’s digital identity platforms, including the NIN verification portal, are fully operational and accessible to stakeholders across the country.

Adegoke also advised Nigerians experiencing issues with services such as new SIM registration, SIM swaps, welcome-back SIMs, or SIM migration to contact their respective telecommunications providers for immediate resolution.

“With this achievement, NIMC continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering secure, efficient, and user-friendly digital identity services to Nigerians,” he said.

He explained that the NINAuth platform, developed by the Commission, enhances data protection, empowers NIN holders to control their personal information, and offers seamless verification and single sign-on access to services.

Also speaking, the Commission’s Director of IT, Mr Lanre Yusuf, confirmed that all telecommunications operators in the country have successfully migrated to the upgraded National Identification Number (NIN) verification platform, NINAuth.

He assured that the new platform now enables uninterrupted verification services for telecom subscribers.

“This development marks a major step forward in strengthening the security, efficiency, and user experience of NIN verification across the country,” Yusuf said.

He noted that the successful migration followed NIMC’s extensive efforts to modernise identity services and return control of NIN data to individual holders.
