Uyo: Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has urged All Progressives Congress (APC) faithful in the state to participate in the ongoing membership revalidation exercise.

Eno made the call shortly after validating his membership of the party at Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area on Monday.

The governor, who was registered as Number 001 on the party register, urged all those who defected with him to the APC to get registered at their various wards.

He stated that the membership revalidation exercise was necessary to identify the party’s actual members and loyalists in the state.

“We should all go back to our wards to get registered with the party. This is necessary to prove our alignment and loyalty to the party.

“The exercise will go on for one month before it will be temporarily closed. The new membership register will be recognised at the end of the exercise,” he said.

Eno used the occasion to urge Akwa Ibom people to remain committed to supporting his administration’s peace and developmental programmes.
