Valins Obizue Assumes Role as New NCoS Controller in Enugu

Enugu:  Mr. Valins Obizue has officially taken over as the new Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Enugu State Command, succeeding Mrs. Prisca Oku, who now serves as Zonal Coordinator for Zone M. – now posted – as the new Zonal Coordinator of Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Zone M, Enugu.

In his inaugural address, Obizue urged personnel to recommit to duty and uphold the standards set by his predecessors. The handover ceremony included the signing of official documents, flag transfer, and inspection of facilities.

“I have worked with some of you before now, and I know you are disciplined and most of you know the job and what to do at every moment.

“We will work together in harmony and make the Command a positive reference point.

“Again, I will uphold all outstanding standards and legacies achieved by my predecessors in the command,” Obizue said.

Earlier, Oku said that her four months in charge of the Command had had a significant impact on the inmates, especially on their welfare and healthcare.

She noted that the Command had been able to get the state government’s attention in the ongoing plan to get inmates enrolled on its state’s healthcare coverage, among other welfare interventions.

“I will urge the personnel to extend the same cooperation given to me to the new controller and ensure that the rating of the command continues to be high,” she said.

High points of the event included signing the handling, taking over notes, handing over the official command flag, and inspecting offices and departments at the Command’s headquarters in Enugu.
