Nasarawa Revenue Service Records ₦16.5bn in Eight-Month Period — Chairman

Lafia (Nigeria): The Nasarawa Internal Revenue Service says it has generated N16.5 billion from January to date.

Alhaji Ahmed Yakubu, Executive Chairman of the Service, disclosed this when he appeared before the State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation for its 2025 second-quarter budget performance review on Tuesday in Lafia.

Yakubu attributed the agency’s success so far to the support it enjoyed from Gov. Abdullahi Sule and the assembly.

He stated that the revenue generated within the period came from mining, banks, construction companies, and other sources.

The Chairman assured the committee of his commitment to exploring more ways to generate revenue for the government.

Earlier, Mr Hudu Alhaji, the Chairman of the committee,  said that the exercise aimed to assess the budget performance of the service for the second quarter.

Alhaji appreciated the management of the service for the improvement in its revenue generation for the state.

He urged the service to maintain its current pace in generating more revenue for the government going forward.

The committee chairman assured the service of collaboration and support to enable them to achieve their set target in revenue generation.
