Lagos (Nigeria): Shine Bridge Global (SBG), a US-based food science and innovation company, has announced its entry and expansion into Nigeria’s industrial hub with three cassava-based products.
The Chairman of SBG, Dr Tony Bello, announced in a statement on Monday in Lagos.
According to Bello, the cassava premixes are RootiFufu (instant fufu, amala style), RootiBake (baked goods premix), and RootiSnacks (snacks premix), targeting Nigeria’s food service and retail markets.
He said the company’s Board of Directors resolved on Sept. 13 that SBG would maintain some Rooti brand co-manufacturing in Germany for immediate readiness.
SBG will also expand into Nigeria by establishing a state-of-the-art food processing hub at the ARISE IIP Shagamu-Iperu Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) in Ogun.
Highlighting the benefits, Bello said operating from the SAPZ would ensure cost efficiency, local value creation, strong partnerships, and effective market execution for cassava-based products.
“Shine Bridge Global is committed to creating high-quality, affordable, and culturally relevant cassava-based food products for Nigerian and global consumers.
“By investing directly in Nigeria’s SAPZ ecosystem, we are not only saving costs but also creating long-term value for communities, investors, and the cassava value chain,” Bello said.
He explained that the SBG Food Processing Hub would provide scalable capacity for Rooti brands and expand into multi-product processing, including cassava, soybeans, and speciality foods.
Bello said localising operations would reduce logistics and blending costs, while strengthening collaboration with Value Ingredients Limited, Graceco, and Spectra Ingredients for packaging and distribution.
He added that this move would position SBG to launch Rooti brands into Nigerian test markets by Christmas 2025.
