Sokoto (Nigeria): The Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodio University Sokoto (UDUS) has approved the promotion of 35 academic staff to the rank of professors.
This is contained in a statement on Thursday in Sokoto, signed by the UDUS Director of Information, Mr Sama’ila Yauri.
Yauri said the approval was sequel to the presentation of promotion exercise results during the 173 Governing Council meeting chaired by Prof. Attahiru Jega.
According to him, 21 academic staff were also promoted to Readers and four to Senior Lecturer positions.
He said that Jega expressed satisfaction over the exercise and urged all promoted academics and non-academic staff to live up to expectations.
He said that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Bashir Garba, congratulated the newly promoted staff and urged them to reciprocate by being more dedicated to their duties.
