Abuja, Nigeria:In a decisive move against drug trafficking, law enforcement authorities in Abuja have apprehended 11 suspects believed to be part of a growing narcotics network operating within the Federal Capital Territory.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the FCT, SP Josephine Adeh, stated this in a press release on Sunday in Abuja.

She said the arrest of the suspects followed the efforts of the command to crack down on drug trafficking in the territory.

“The raids, conducted by the Command’s Anti-Narcotics Unit, led to the recovery of 68 bags of substances believed to be cannabis.

“The arrests are part of ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal supply networks and reduce drug-fueled crimes within the nation’s capital,” she said.

Adeh said the arrest of the suspects was a significant milestone in dismantling criminal supply chains, curbing drug-induced crimes, and ensuring that harmful substances were kept away from communities.

She pledged the commitment of the command to intensifying operations against drug-related offences.

The FCT police spokesperson called on residents to support ongoing efforts by providing timely and helpful information via the command’s emergency lines: 08061581938, 08032003913, or 08107314192.
