Integrity Above All: Yusuf Demands Ethical Leadership from Political Appointees

Gov. Yusuf

Kano, Nigeria: Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has issued a clarion call to political appointees, urging them to uphold the highest standards of integrity and accountability in public service.

The governor also stressed that these values were crucial for building a better future for the state.

Yusuf made the call during a three-day retreat themed ‘Anti-Corruption, Financial Fraud, Transformational Leadership, and Ethical Values in the Workplace’, jointly organised by ANHI Consultants International and the Kano State Government in Kaduna.

According to a statement by the governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, Yusuf emphasised that every action, decision, and policy must reflect the values of transparency, honesty, and accountability.

The governor warned that corruption was directly harming the poor and vulnerable, adding that the people of Kano were increasingly impatient with unfulfilled promises and demanded a government that works for them.

He further stressed that government success depends not only on policies but also on the integrity and professionalism of those tasked with implementation.

Yusuf urged the participants to remain courageous and committed to doing what is right.

The retreat concluded with the presentation of certificates and a group photograph session, during which notable attendees praised the Governor’s vision and leadership.
