Abuja (Nigeria):  Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has commended the uncommon patience, endurance, and resilience of Nigerians in holding the country together in the face of socio-economic and security challenges.

Abubakar, in a statement by his Media Aide, Paul Ibe, in his independence message on Tuesday in Abuja, wished Nigerians a happy 65th independence day anniversary celebration.

He urged Nigerians to keep hope alive, saying that with exemplary leadership, the country can still rise to reclaim its rightful place among the comity of nations.

The vice president stated that, despite the country’s immense human and material resources, millions of Nigerians still faced challenges such as unemployment, hunger, and insecurity.
