Abuja: Nigeria’s Defence Minister, Mohammed Badaru, has called on the newly appointed military service chiefs to adopt a unified strategy and take bold, decisive action to tackle the country’s security challenges.
Speaking during their formal inauguration, the minister emphasised the need for synergy across the armed forces, urging the commanders to move beyond fragmented responses and deliver coordinated, results-driven operations that restore public confidence and national stability.
Badaru handed over the charge during the service chiefs’ maiden courtesy visit, led by Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, to the Ministry of Defence on Tuesday in Abuja.
This is contained in a statement by the Personal Assistant to the Minister on Media and Publicity, Mati Ali.
Ali said the visit had in attendance the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt.-Gen. Oluyede, Chief of Army Staff, Maj.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Adm. Idi Abbas, and Chief of the Air Staff, AVM Sunday Aneke.
According to him, the visit underscores the minister’s commitment to building a cohesive defence leadership anchored on trust, collaboration, and shared purpose.
