Soludo Clinches Second Term in Landslide Anambra Victory

Enugu: Prof. Charles Soludo has secured a resounding second-term victory in Anambra State, cruising to victory with a commanding 422,664 votes.

Backed by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Soludo outpaced his closest rival, Chief Nichols Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), by over 300,000 votes, reaffirming his political dominance and the party’s stronghold in the region.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Soludo the winner of the November 8 governorship election at its headquarters in Awka on Sunday.

Prof. Edoba Omoregie, Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, made the announcement on Sunday, November 9.

Other contenders included Mr Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), who secured 37,753 votes; George Moghalu of the Labour Party with 10,576 votes; and John Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), who polled 8,208 votes.
