Makinde to Lay 2026 Fiscal Blueprint Before Assembly Monday

Ibadan: Governor Seyi Makinde will present the 2026 budget proposal to the Oyo State House of Assembly on Monday, outlining his administration’s priorities for growth, infrastructure, and public welfare in the year ahead.

This is contained in a statement issued in Ibadan on Monday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Dr Suleimon Olanrewaju.

According to the statement, the 2026 budget estimate will be the seventh Appropriation Bill the governor will present to lawmakers since his election in 2019.

It stated that the state government had held a series of stakeholders’ consultative and Engagement meetings on the 2026 Budget across the seven zones of the state.

The meeting, according to the statement, was held to engage residents of the state to understand their expectations for the 2026 Budget.

“The State Executive Council, Ministries, Departments and Agencies concluded the Treasury Board meeting on the Budget estimate on Monday, with the governor set to present the same to legislators next week,” it read.
