Lagos: Circuits, a premium virtual cinema and content distribution platform, has unveiled an exciting December lineup featuring community cinema screenings, live AFCON streaming, and a range of innovative digital content initiatives.

The Chief Operating Officer of Circuits, Mrs Imade Bibowei-Osuobeni, said this at a round table with journalists on Friday in Lagos.

Bibowei-Osuobeni said one of the company’s major December projects would be the special re-release of Agesinkole: King of Thieves Part 2, produced by popular Yoruba filmmaker, Femi Adebayo

The film was previously a box-office success, with over 200,000 ticket sales.

Bibowei-Osuobeni said: “We are releasing part two of Agesinkole: King of Thieves; we are working with our partners to pioneer the community cinema model for theatrical release from Dec. 23 to Jan. 4, as part of our effort to reach the grassroots through African cinema.

“So both are coming out this December, AFCON and part two of Agesinkole: King of Thieves. AFCON is starting Dec. 21, and then we’re premiering the King of Thieves 2, Dec. 23.”

She said the company secured the sole rights to reintroduce the film through a new community cinema model, where the movie would be screened in rented halls and event centres across communities in the South-West states.

According to her, tickets will sell for N3,000 outside Lagos and N4,000 in Lagos to ensure that people at the grassroots can afford to watch Nigerian epic films.

She added that the platform would stream the Africa Cup of Nations matches in Nigeria for users without cable television.

She said the first 100,000 Nigerians to join the wait list would receive complimentary tickets to watch Nigerian matches as part of a market test.

Bibowei-Osuobeni also announced the launch of a Kids’ Corner in January 2026, a special section dedicated to clean, safe and child-friendly content.

Speaking about its operations, the co-founder said Circuits operates a virtual cinema model, where films are premiered at scheduled times like in physical cinemas, and viewers pay per movie via a pay-per-view system.

She said films on the platform are released for limited periods, such as 3 or 6 months, unlike on other platforms, where content stays for years.

Speaking on partnerships, she said Circuits was working with state governments to launch the Creative Impact Fund for states.

She said that Ekiti State was the first to sign the agreement, launching the Ekiti State Creative Impact Fund.

She added that 15 other states were in the pipeline and at different stages of discussion.

Bibowei-Osuobeni disclosed plans to work with the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism to digitise training and culinary content for tourism and hospitality professionals.

On the challenges, she said Circuits spends heavily on anti-piracy systems, storage, content delivery networks and skilled personnel.

She disclosed that over one million pirated links and channels had been taken down in less than one year.

She said the company would continue to stand out through customer service, quality content and constant improvement.

She, however, stressed that Circuits was not in competition with global streaming platforms, but was focused on collaboration to grow Africa’s digital content ecosystem.

She said the company remained focused on creating jobs, growing state revenue, and expanding Nigeria’s creative economy through technology.
