Enyimba humble Kwara United 3–1 in Aba

Aba Abia State:  Enyimba International FC of Aba secured a convincing 3–1 victory over visiting Kwara United FC of Ilorin in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match-day 17 clash.

Samuel Agu opened the scoring for the People’s Elephant in the 25th minute, but Kwara United quickly responded through Gidado Toyeeb’s equalizer in the 31st minute, leaving the first half tied at 1–1.

After the break, Michael Chidera restored Enyimba’s lead in the 57th minute and later doubled his tally, capitalizing on a costly error from Kwara United’s goalkeeper, Nurudeen Badmus.

Speaking after the match, Enyimba coach Lawrence Ukaegbu praised his team’s pressure and expressed confidence in securing maximum points from the remaining fixtures of the first stanza.

Kwara United’s coach, Ashifat Suleiman, admitted his side struggled with injuries and goalkeeping errors, vowing to bounce back against Bayelsa United in their next outing.

With the result, Enyimba climbed to 8th place on the league table with 23 points, while Kwara United slipped to 12th with 21 points after 17 matches.
