Anglican Bishop Ezeofor Urges FG to Prioritise People-Oriented Projects

Aguata, Anambra StateRt. Rev. Samuel Ezeofor, Bishop of the Aguata Diocese (Anglican Communion), has called on the Federal Government to place greater emphasis on programmes and projects that directly improve the welfare of Nigerians, stressing that governance must be measured by its impact on the people.

Ezeofor made the call in his Christmas message released by his Director of Media and Communications, Mr Abuchi Nwozor, on Wednesday in Aguata, Anambra State.

He expressed concern about the prevailing hardships faced by citizens, attributing them to poor economic policies.

The cleric lamented the high level of kidnapping, banditry, and other security challenges across the country.

He called on the government to adopt strategic, proactive measures to strengthen the nation’s security architecture, restore public confidence, and renew hope in the Nigerian project.

He also advised Nigerians to engage in activities that promote peaceful coexistence.

Speaking on the significance of Christmas, Ezeofor urged affluent individuals to remember the less privileged during the festive season and beyond.

According to him, they need to demonstrate compassion, love, and generosity to the needy in society.

The Bishop warned against actions that could erode the true meaning and essence of Christmas.

“I encourage Nigerians to remain steadfast in faith and trust in God in spite of the daunting challenges confronting the nation.

“Every challenge has an expiry date.

“I wish Nigerians a joyful Christmas celebration and a prosperous 2026,” he said.
