Accord Calls for Unity, Renewed Faith at Christmas

Abuja: Accord Party has urged Nigerians to embrace unity and renew their faith in the nation as Christians celebrate the Christmas season.

National Chairman Maxwell Mgbudem, in a Christmas message on Thursday, said the birth of Jesus Christ symbolises hope, peace, and renewal, reminding citizens that shared humanity remains Nigeria’s greatest strength.

He called on Nigerians to rise above ethnic, religious, and political divides, stressing that unity is not optional but a necessity for national progress.

Mgbudem acknowledged prevailing socio-economic and security challenges but insisted that Nigeria remains a country of immense promise, resilience, and talent.

He urged leaders at all levels to pursue peace, justice, and people-centred policies, while prioritising the welfare, dignity, and security of citizens.

He further appealed for renewed commitment to protecting lives and property, strengthening cohesion, and addressing violence through inclusive governance and social justice. “A nation thrives only when citizens feel safe, heard, and supported,” he said, praying for peace and unity across the country.

Mgbudem concluded with a message of hope: “Merry Christmas, and may the New Year bring renewed strength and prosperity to our great nation.”
