Akure: Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Monday signed into law the ₦524.4 billion 2026 Appropriation Bill, officially christened the Budget of Economic Consolidation.

The fiscal plan allocates ₦220.8 billion (42.11%) to recurrent expenditure and ₦303.57 billion (57.89%) to capital projects, underscoring the administration’s commitment to infrastructure expansion, economic growth, and self-reliance.

He charged ministries, departments, and agencies to strictly align with budget provisions and ensure the timely, prudent execution of projects, particularly in roads, power, and water supply, which are critical to creating an enabling environment for businesses.

The governor also reaffirmed efforts to expand internally generated revenue through technology-driven, transparent tax systems and by blocking leakages.

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, commended Aiyedatiwa for transforming Akure into a “capital-like city,” while the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Olaolu Akindolire, described the fiscal plan as strategic, realistic, and people-focused.
