15 Escape, One Injured in Osun Road Crash — FRSC

Osogbo: The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that one person sustained severe injuries while 15 others escaped unhurt in a road accident on the Gbongan Expressway, Osun State, on Friday.

Osun Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr. Adegboyega Leye, disclosed this in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Mrs. Agnes Ogungbemi, in Osogbo.

Leye explained that the crash occurred at about 3:45 p.m. on the Gbongan–Ode Omu Grammar School axis and involved a white commercial bus. The bus reportedly suffered a burst tyre and lost control due to excessive speed.

According to him, all 16 passengers were rescued, with only one sustaining severe injuries. The victim was taken to an undisclosed hospital in Gbongan for medical attention, while the vehicle was confiscated by the FRSC rescue team.

The sector commander warned motorists against speeding, stressing that reckless driving often leads to avoidable loss of lives and property on Nigerian highways.
