AFCON 2025: Super Eagles Crush Mozambique 4-0 to Reach Quarter-Finals

Fés, Morocco: Nigeria stormed into the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a commanding 4-0 victory over Mozambique in Fés on Monday.

Ademola Lookman opened the scoring in the 20th minute, firing into the top corner after a neat square pass from Akor Adams. Victor Osimhen then struck twice — in the 25th and 47th minutes — to put the Super Eagles firmly in control and extinguish Mozambique’s resistance.

Adams capped his lively performance with a close-range finish in the 75th minute, his first goal of the tournament, as Nigeria maintained relentless attacking pressure throughout.

The emphatic win underlined the Super Eagles’ title ambitions as they advanced to Saturday’s quarter-final, where they will face either Algeria or DR Congo in their quest for a fourth continental crown.
