Abuja: In a decisive 24-hour offensive, Nigerian Army troops neutralised 25 terrorists, rescued kidnapped victims, and seized weapons across multiple theatres of operation.
According to a military source, the coordinated strikes were carried out under the Operations Hadin Kai (OPHK), Fansan Yamma, Whirl Stroke, and Delta Safe, underscoring the army’s nationwide resolve against insurgents and criminal networks.
In the North-East, troops of 73 Battalion (Mechanised), supported by Hybrid Forces and the Civilian Joint Task Force, ambushed terrorists at Sojiri crossing point in Konduga, Borno. Five were neutralised, one AK-47 rifle was recovered, and three hostages were freed.
A precision airstrike also obliterated an ISWAP/JAS enclave in Nduva, killing 18 fighters, including high-value commander Munzir, also known as Baa Yanziye. Nine motorcycles were destroyed, crippling terrorist mobility.
In Yobe, troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade ambushed terrorists along the Meleri–Ngirbua axis, killing two and recovering another AK-47 rifle.
Elsewhere, in the North-Central theatre, Operation Whirl Stroke uncovered a large cache of arms in Takum, Taraba. In the South-South, Operation Delta Safe dismantled three illegal refining sites in Ikwerre, Rivers State, and destroyed equipment used for crude oil theft.
In Delta State, troops arrested a suspected gunrunner in Warri South, recovering mobile phones and ₦22,700.
The source reaffirmed the army’s determination to sustain pressure on terrorists, bandits, and criminal elements nationwide. He urged citizens to continue providing timely intelligence to security agencies, stressing that public cooperation remains vital to ongoing successes.
