Lagos: The Naira strengthened on Friday, appreciating by ₦10.43 against the U.S. dollar to close at ₦1,386.55 at the official market, capping a positive week for the local currency.
According to data released on the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) official website, the Naira gained N10.43.
This represents a 0.7 per cent gain compared to Thursday, when it traded at N1,396.99 per dollar.
The Naira has remained relatively stable due to CBN reforms, experiencing a weeklong appreciation.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the local currency traded at N1,418.95, N1,401.22 and N1,400.47, respectively.
