Kogi Schools to Reopen Monday after Closure

Lokoja: The Kogi Ministry of Education has confirmed that schools will reopen on Monday, Feb. 23, following the emergency mid-term break.

On Feb. 3, the Kogi government indefinitely closed all schools statewide, citing insecurity.

Mr Matthew Salami, Director of Basic and Secondary Education, instructed school heads and the public to note the resumption date.

According to him, all school activities will continue as usual, and both day and boarding house students are expected to resume on Monday, Feb. 23.

He said the announcement covers all Kogi schools and thanked students, parents, and staff for their cooperation during the break.

He added that the ministry will share more updates later.
