Makinde Swears in 17 Permanent Secretaries, Demands Performance

Ibadan: Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Tuesday, swore in 17 newly-appointed Permanent Secretaries and charged them to remain loyal, committed, and transparent in their duties.

The governor performed the swearing-in in his executive chamber in Government House, Ibadan, while urging them to discharge their duties effectively in the interest of the state.

He said that their appointment was based on merit and competence, adding that they should prioritise the state’s interests, avoid conflicts of interest, and serve the people with probity.

The breakdown of the appointees showed that of the 17 Permanent Secretaries, eight were from the mainstream civil service and four from the education sector.Three other nominees were from the local government, one from the House of Assembly Service Commission, and one from the Auditor-General’s office.
