Abuja: President Bola Tinubu will visit Jos, Plateau State, on Thursday, ahead of a scheduled four-state tour across the country.
The president will commiserate with the government and people of Plateau over recent gun attacks that claimed the lives of innocent citizens.
This visit comes after the postponement of his planned trip to Iperu, Ogun State, where he was to flag off operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport.
Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, issued this statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
The visit demonstrates the administration’s concern over security challenges and its solidarity with affected communities in the state.
From Plateau, the President will proceed to Lagos to observe Good Friday.
On Saturday, Tinubu will travel to Ogun State to commission the Gateway International Cargo Airport. He will also inaugurate two commercial aircraft designated for export and import operations aimed at boosting the state’s economic growth.
Also in Ogun State, the President is scheduled to inaugurate the new edifice of the Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service.
He will also inaugurate operational vehicles. These vehicles are intended to enhance the service’s efficiency in trade facilitation and border management.
Following these engagements, Tinubu will return to Lagos to continue the Easter holiday and undertake additional official duties.
While in Lagos, the President is expected to commission key infrastructure projects executed by Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
These include the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge and the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building. He will also commission a Multi-Agency Complex named after the President.
He will also inaugurate a school complex. This is part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure in the state.
Before returning to Abuja, Tinubu will visit Bayelsa on April 10 to commission projects.
Governor Duoye Diri’s administration completed the projects.
The four-state tour is expected to combine condolence visits with the commissioning of infrastructure projects across different sectors.
