Ondo SSG Fasoranti Resigns, Declares Senate Ambition

Akure:  The Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, has stepped down from his position to pursue his senatorial bid, marking a significant move in the state’s political landscape.

Fasoranti made this known in a letter made available to newsmen on Friday in Akure.

He also formally declared his intention to contest for the Ondo Central Senatorial District seat.

The SSG said his decision was driven by a strong sense of responsibility, a lifelong dedication to public service, and a firm belief in the potential of the district’s people.

Fasoranti noted that as a medical doctor for over three decades, he was rooted in compassion, discipline, and responsiveness to the needs of the people.

He cited his career at the State House Medical Centre, Abuja, where he rose to the directorate level before retiring in 2024, and his current position as SSG as experiences that have prepared him for national service.

According to him, these roles have provided deep insights into governance and policy implementation, and have strengthened his capacity for effective service delivery at the National Assembly.

Fasoranti said his ambition focused on people-centred representation and strengthening democratic dividends across the district’s communities.

He assured constituents in Ondo West, Ondo East, Ifedore, Akure South, Akure North, and Idanre LGAs of purposeful representation, pledging to turn their aspirations into legislative action.

State Commissioner for Information Idowu Ajanaku confirmed Fasoranti’s resignation on March 30.

“The SSG has resigned to pursue his senatorial ambition. He submitted his letter to Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa on March 30,” Ajanaku said.
