Abuja: In a bid to amplify Nigeria’s global profile, the Local Organising Committee of the Nigerian-German Investment and Cultural Expo (NGICE 2026) met with Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, to finalize plans for a landmark Berlin showcase spotlighting Nigeria’s vast investment potential and vibrant cultural heritage.
Amb. Chielo Ojirika, the Coordinator of NGICE 2026 and Nigerian Cultural Ambassador to Germany, provided this information during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Saturday.
Ojirika said the local organising committee of the NGICE 2026, chaired by the former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sir Mike Okiro, paid an update visit to the SGF to brief him on the preparations and new developments on the expo.
He said the committee considered the visit necessary because the SGF will lead the NGICE delegation to showcase Nigeria’s investment opportunities and cultural heritage in Berlin.
According to him, the expo is to showcase Nigeria’s investment potential in oil and gas and solid minerals, and to encourage foreign investors to invest.
Ojirika, who is also known as Chiboy D’Black Courage, added that “the expo would also further expose our music and movies to the world. That is what we aim to achieve with the expose.
NGICE 2026 is designed as a strategic platform to attract foreign direct investment and showcase the nation’s diverse cultural and business prospects.
It also aims to bring the world to Berlin for Nigeria, presenting it as an investor’s haven full of untapped opportunities in trade, agriculture, fashion, technology, and culture.
Ojirika explained that the expo will feature exhibitions, investment showcases, business forums, and roundtable sessions involving investors, financial institutions, CEOs, and public-private sector leaders.
According to him, other activities will include cultural displays, a global peace concert, a gala night/awards, networking sessions, and guided visits to relevant companies and institutions in Germany.
We are not only promoting investment. We are showcasing Nigeria’s soft power—our culture, our people, and our potential,” he added.
