Semenyo Sparks City’s Charge to Back-to-Back Titles

Abuja: Antoine Semenyo’s 72nd-minute back-heel, assisted by Haaland, gave Manchester City a 1-0 win over Chelsea to clinch the FA Cup title.

Chelsea held a strong defence for much of the match, but Manchester City scored the winning goal when Semenyo finished Haaland’s assist with a back-heel, which proved decisive.

This FA Cup is Manchester City’s second trophy this season, following their victory over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final in March.

City remain contenders for a third trophy, trailing Arsenal by two points in the EPL title race with two games remaining.

Captain Bernardo Silva called the victory special as he prepares to leave the Club at season’s end.

“It is just special to me in my last season to give them another trophy.”

For Chelsea, the loss means their hopes of European football are now slimmer, as they are ninth in the Premier League table.
