Wike: FCT Projects Showcase Tinubu’s Good Governance

Abuja: FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says ongoing infrastructure projects are proof of President Tinubu’s commitment to good governance and urban renewal.

Wike made the remarks on Monday after inspecting specific ongoing projects in the capital city, emphasising his satisfaction with both the pace and quality of delivery on infrastructure works.

He explained that swiftly completing essential infrastructure and reviving long-abandoned projects is part of Tinubu’s approach to meeting residents’ demands for effective urban development and service delivery.

Referring to the Airport Road to Kuje Expressway project, Wike said the road’s scale and quality were evident and exemplified the contractor’s capabilities and the administration’s project priorities.

“That is what is called good governance. Tinubu is simply showcasing good governance to the people,” he said, hailing the administration’s infrastructure drive.

He praised the contractor for a “fantastic job,” noting adherence to engineering and construction standards.

Wike also lauded the completed first phase of the Kuje to Gwagwalada Road, saying, “The quality of work has significantly improved the landscape of the area.

“I am so happy with the quality of the project. You can see how infrastructure has changed the entire landscape of the Kuje area,” he added.

The minister also inspected the Renewed Hope City access road in Karsana, noting it is 98 per cent complete.

On Old Keffi Road, from Kado Fish Market to Dei Dei, Wike said the contractor was close to finishing asphalt-laying and streetlight installation.

Speaking on the City Gate remodelling project, the minister said the structure now had a new look and commended First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for initiating the project.

“At night, anyone passing through will see a changed city—the capital of Nigeria.”

“I think today is one of my happiest days. All the projects we inspected, obviously, are ready for inauguration,” he added.

On Mr Kingsley Chinda’s APC governorship candidacy, Wike called him qualified and influential.

He highlighted Chinda’s experience as strengthening his candidacy and the party’s interest in him.

Wike added that Chinda had served in both executive and legislative capacities.

On Gov. Fubara’s withdrawal from the APC primary, Wike said he was unsurprised, noting prior agreement on impeachment and term limits.

“An agreement dropped his impeachment and barred his second term,” he said.
