Abuja: The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has released the shortlist of successful candidates for its 2024/2025 paramilitary recruitment exercise, moving the process to the physical screening and document verification stage.

The figures highlight the intense competition for federal paramilitary jobs, with applicants drawn from across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to the breakdown, Kogi State topped the list with 116,378 applications, followed by Kaduna with 114,707 and Benue with 110,776. Other high-volume states include Kano (89,501), Niger (79,616), Kwara (78,510), and Katsina (77,008).
At the lower end of the spectrum, Bayelsa recorded 11,693 applications, the lowest nationwide, while Lagos State accounted for 14,227 applicants.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded 30,347 applications, reflecting strong interest in the recruitment exercise within the nation’s capital.
The CDCFIB said shortlisted candidates can now proceed to the next stage of the exercise by checking their status on the official recruitment portal and selecting venues and dates for physical screening.
Applicants are required to log in using their application numbers, upload necessary credentials, and follow instructions provided on the portal.
The board reiterated that the recruitment process remains completely free of charge and warned applicants against fraudsters demanding payment for job placement, screening slots, or assistance.
It also urged candidates to rely only on official communication channels, stressing that updates will be published strictly on the recruitment portal and verified platforms.
CDCFIB reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent, merit-based recruitment process in line with established public service guidelines.
