Asaba: Key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State gathered at the Banquet Hall of Government House on Friday to deliberate on the party’s e-registration drive and upcoming congresses.
The meeting drew prominent figures, including the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo; the APC National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Felix Morka; members of the National and State Assemblies; and other notable leaders across the state.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, addressing the gathering, underscored that leadership derives legitimacy from the people and is sustained by humility. “When people talk about leaders, what makes you a leader? It is the people who make you a leader. All of you here are my leaders; I am only holding the front for you,” he said.
He dismissed claims of crisis within the state chapter, stressing that unity remains the party’s greatest strength. He urged members to put collective interest above personal ambition, resist division, and work together to deliver massive votes for President Bola Tinubu and APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Chief Festus Keyamo called on party members to remain focused as preparations for congresses intensify. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, on his first visit to Government House in over 18 years, described the governor’s gesture of inclusiveness as significant.
He pledged continued commitment to the party’s success, noting: “As the leader of the party in the state, the governor’s leadership is critical to our collective progress. I am ready to work with him and other leaders to ensure the APC thrives and delivers bold, sustainable benefits to our people.”
Former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa commended the unity displayed at the meeting and urged stakeholders to translate resolutions into action. He called for intensified grassroots mobilisation, bringing the e-registration exercise directly to homes and communities across the state.
